Kaleidoscope’s Lower Wortley KOOSH Club is located 2 miles west of Leeds City Centre in the community room of Lower Wortley primary school. The KOOSH Supervisor Siobhan Passey, who is studying for a degree in play work and is level 3 qualified. Siobahn works hard with her team to create a fun and exciting environment for children to play and relax in during out of school hours.
The KOOSH club has the use of the community room and the large and small halls. In the community room we have a creative and messy area, a cosy corner in which the children like to relax, and tables for the children to have tea. After tea they can play with small world toys, board games and we operate a homework club. In the small hall we have a large space for physical activities, team games and large construction which is very popular with the children. Finally, we have use of the school’s outside areas which includes use of the fixed play equipment and the extensive school playing fields.
KOOSH Club Lower Wortley is open for breakfast club from 7.30 am and after school club runs to 6.00pm throughout the school year. We operate a Holiday club at our Drighlington nursery from 8.00am to 6.00pm during school holidays (excluding Bank Holidays) and we do offer a pick up and drop off service from Lower Wortley Primary School and can offer care for school training days. The Holiday club offers lots of exciting activities and trips out such as trips to the seaside, ten pin bowling, farm visits, and visits to the woods and in the summer, water fun and barbeques! We provide nutritious food; home cooked from locally sourced ingredients to provide a healthy, balanced diet. Children are encouraged to help prepare and cook the food we provide so they develop skills of independence as well as co-operation. We cater for all individual dietary needs and food allergies.
