Vacancy: Assistant Nursery Manager

Location: Kaleidoscope Day Nursery, C/O Westfield School, Askham Lane, Acomb, York, YO24 3HP.

Type: 40 hours per week

Salary: Up to £21,000 per annum plus childcare discount, dependant on qualifications and experience.

Contract: Full Time

Kaleidoscope’s Acomb nursery is a large, purpose built building set in the grounds of Westfield Primary School for children aged 3 months to 5 years; operating across 3 rooms. We also run a successful out of school club (KOOSH) for 4 to 11 year olds.

We are seeking a highly enthusiastic Assistant Nursery Manager with the ability to inspire and motivate the staff team and to role model, maintain and develop high quality standards of care and education. The nursery was rated as Good by Ofsted in 2013 therefore it is essential that the Assistant Nursery Manager is able to support the Manager to build on our Ofsted standards of EYFS delivery by leading, supporting and developing the staff team. The Assistant Manager must also have a good grasp of the nursery business and be able to support the Manager in achieving occupancy and budget targets as well as being an effective communicator who can manage Health and Safety in the nursery and organise weekly rotas.

You need to hold a relevant early years qualification and have solid experience of working as part of the management team of a nursery.  An Early Years Degree, QTS, EYTS or EYPS would be an advantage.

Senior Childcare Practitioner (Acomb)

We are looking for a Senior Child Care Practitioner to work at our Acomb nursery.  We are passionate about the quality of the care we provide so you must love working with children.   You will have a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Child Care, preferably with GCSE grade C in Maths and English.  We are seeking a highly effective communicator who will put safeguarding at the forefront of all practice.  You must also have knowledge of child development, EYFS and experience of leading and supporting a team.  This is a full time position of 40 hours per week.

Your Job role:

  • To support the Manager in every aspect of the setting’s operation.
  • To accept responsibility for the day to day management of the team, playing an active part of the nursery management team
  • To supervise, lead and motivate a team of staff, delegating responsibilities in your absence
  • To be responsible for planning and providing interesting learning opportunities following the EYFS.
  • To have high expectations of the team, ensuring high standards of child care are maintained at all times.

Childcare Practitioner (Drighlington)

Kaleidoscope Nurseries are looking for a Childcare Practitioner to work at our Drighlington nursery.  We are passionate about the quality of the care we provide so you must love working with children.   You will have a full and relevant Level 3 qualification with a minimum of key skills level 2 or GCSE grade C in Maths and English.  You must also have knowledge of child development & the EYFS and a commitment to putting safeguarding at the forefront of all practice.  This is a full time position of 40 hours per week.

Supply Assistant Childcare Practitioner (Leeds)

Kaleidoscope Day Nurseries Ltd are looking for a Supply Assistant Childcare Practitioner to work in the Leeds Area.  We are passionate about the quality of the care we provide so you must love working with children.   It is desirable that you hold a relevant level 2 qualification in Early Years Child Care, preferably with GCSE grade C in Maths and English.  The hours will be as and when to suit the needs of the business.
